Accessibility Statement
Element Lookup aims to make chemistry learning usable across different devices, input methods and accessibility needs. Accessibility is treated as an ongoing engineering and editorial responsibility.
Our approach
Our work is informed by widely used accessibility practices and WCAG principles, including semantic structure, keyboard-operable controls, visible focus, readable contrast, touch-friendly controls, reduced-motion support and text alternatives or adjacent explanation for interactive visuals.
Interactive scientific content
Some content uses WebGL, canvas, maps, sliders or dynamic charts. These components are designed to keep a textual, static or evidence-based learning path available when full interaction is unavailable, but complex scientific visualization can still present accessibility limitations for some assistive technologies.
Themes and motion
Dark and light themes are both supported. Text contrast follows the immediate component surface rather than only the global theme. Reduced-motion preferences are used to suppress or reduce automatic motion where appropriate without removing access to the underlying information.
Conformance statement
We do not claim that every page has completed a formal independent WCAG conformance audit. Accessibility is continuously tested and improved as shared components evolve.
Report a problem
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, contact us at elementlookup@gmail.com and include the page, browser/device, assistive technology if relevant, and a description of what prevented access.
These pages document Element Lookup's current operating and editorial practices. They are not individualized legal advice. Laws and platform requirements vary by jurisdiction, so the site owner should obtain professional legal advice for business-specific obligations when appropriate.
